Mausoleum-madrasa Hodji Mashhad

The architectural monument Madras Mausoleum of Khoja Mashhad is located 6 km away. south of the district center Shakhritus, Shakhritus district of the Khatlon region of the Republic of Tajikistan, in the lower reaches of the Kofarnihon River, on the outskirts of the village of Sayod. The mausoleum-madras of Khoja Mashhad is a brilliant monument of Tajik architecture of the 9th-12th centuries, embodying a whole era of history, culture, construction skills and aesthetic views of its time. It is the most important link in the history of the culture of Central Asia. A variety of decorative masonry and magnificent proportions put the mausoleum on a par with the outstanding Central Asian monuments of the 9th-12th centuries. The mausoleum-madrasa of Khoja Mashhad was a spiritual and cultural center for the upbringing of the younger generation of its time.
