Settlement of Kofirkala

The settlement of Kofirkala is located in the Kolkhozabad district of the Khatlon region on the western outskirts of the regional center. 

The settlement of Kofirkala is an architectural and historical monument of the early Middle Ages (IV-VIII centuries). Three main periods of construction were identified on the settlement, which correspond to three cultural layers.

The hill fort is a fortified city of a square shape (the side of a square is 360 m) with a regular layout. The northeastern corner of the city is occupied by the citadel. The material of the buildings is pakhsa and rectangular adobe. 

In the Kolkhozabad district there are private guest houses for tourists and many catering points with a predominance of Tajik national dishes.
